The route follows the ancient charcoal burners' mule tracks and intricate passages used by shepherds who inhabited these mountains for millennia. Subject to availability, you will be able to use the small shared Bungalows (bunk beds). Following an initial briefing to clarify all doubts, you will settle in for a leisurely dinner at the restaurant.<h5 style="font-size:20px;line-height:1.6;color:rgb( 52 , 64 , 78 );margin-top:0.5em;margin-bottom:0.5em">DAY 2</h5>Immediately after breakfast and a final briefing with your guide, you will move by 4WD to Santa Maria Navarrese, the starting point of the trek. The walk will begin along the sea, on an easy path, and then up the long climb to Punta Giradili. Despite the considerable elevation gain, the first day's walk is the most accessible and provides a good introduction to the challenges of the following days. The ancient mule track will take you through forests and incredible views of the Gulf of Orosei. Exposed trails will take you close to the cliffs with breathtaking views all along the way. You'll tackle some incredible aerial passages created by shepherds, following in the footsteps of these courageous mountaineers. After numerous equipped passages and rope rappels, you will reach Bacu Padente camp, where you will spend the night under the immense foliage of the majestic centuries-old holm oaks.Departure: Su Porteddu (400 m asl) Arrival: Bacu Padente (250 m asl) Difficulty: EEA Distance: 10 km Duration: 8 hours Height difference: +633 -770m Rope descents: 2 (max 20m) Climbing: easy passages protected by fixed rope<h5 style="font-size:20px;line-height:1.6;color:rgb( 52 , 64 , 78 );margin-top:0.5em;margin-bottom:0.5em">DAY 6</h5>On the last day of the hike, you will tackle the most significant rope rappels in the Blue Wilderness, one of which is 45 meters long. The trail finally becomes less rugged, and dense holm oak forests will provide shade for much of the way. From the last rope rappel, you will reach Cala Sisine, for a rejuvenating dip in the sea. From the beach you will walk 2 km to reach the meeting point with the off-road vehicles, which will take you back to Rifugio Goloritzè to spend the last evening with your fellow adventurers. The difference in altitude is important and develops mainly in the first part and at the beginning of the second. The ascent on the limestone in some very exposed points to be dealt with carefully presents in some stretches the need to keep to some safety steel cables anchored to the rock and an iron ladder to overcome to get to the most famous stretch for its beauty scenic and photos of ritual with the view of Sugar Loaf from above. The excursion continues with no less effort and with a continuous ups/downs that allows you to get to the Grand Canal allowing in the hottest periods opportunities for a bath and break for packed lunch. The route has no emergency exit points as almost completely not accessible by vehicles, including off-road vehicles. Trekking in the Piricanis Gorge and Rio 'e Forru Waterfall at Gennargentu

Discover the breathtaking beauty of the eastern side of the Gennargentu massif on a guided hike with a local from Arzana. Experience the Piricanis gorges and the Rio 'e Forru waterfalls. Immerse yourself in the innermost and wildest Ogliastra, in central-eastern Sardinia, on a suggestive path that is articulated through the Piricanis gorges to reach the Rio 'e Forru waterfalls. Traveling along the slopes on the eastern slope of the Gennargentu, you go up the river bed which is home to native species such as the Sardinian trout, now almost extinct in other streams on the island. During your excursion, the guide will show you the territory from a biological and geo-morphological point of view and you will walk in a rocky landscape of porphyry and schist. You will test your balance in crossing the river from one bank to the other by walking on the pebble bottom or by jumping between the rocks. At a certain point of the itinerary you will enter the midst of luxuriant woodland vegetation, but then you will continue along the rocky path and arrive at the marvelous Rio 'e Forru waterfalls surrounded by Jurassic walls. Here you will regain your energy and then go back on the same path. It will be an adventurous experience where you will fill up on adrenaline and fun in a fairytale landscape that will awaken your senses thanks to the energy released by a thousand-year-old land, the sound of flowing water and the scents of the vegetation.
