The difference in altitude is important and develops mainly in the first part and at the beginning of the second. The ascent on the limestone in some very exposed points to be dealt with carefully presents in some stretches the need to keep to some safety steel cables anchored to the rock and an iron ladder to overcome to get to the most famous stretch for its beauty scenic and photos of ritual with the view of Sugar Loaf from above. The excursion continues with no less effort and with a continuous ups/downs that allows you to get to the Grand Canal allowing in the hottest periods opportunities for a bath and break for packed lunch. The experience begins with a visit to the “Organica” Museum along an immersive route among holm oaks, cork oaks and Mediterranean scrub. Here you will actively explore this very special open-air museum together with an expert guide who will show you the works of art hidden in the woods. The visit continues in the exhibition space of the CEDAP, a small building of contemporary architecture which since 2020 has hosted the Museum's temporary exhibitions of contemporary art and photography in its two rooms.At the end of the experience you cannot miss a small tasting of typical Gallura products to be enjoyed in a highly prestigious naturalistic setting.FURTHER INFORMATIONThe route of the works installed in the forest is approximately 1.5 km long with a slight slope. The works are easily accessible.WOODS OF CURADUREDDUThe Curadureddu forest is located on the slopes of Mount Limbara, an imposing massif immersed in the heart of Gallura, near Tempio Pausania. The biodiversity of the forest, the numerous paths and the evocative scenery offered by the natural pools of the Riu Pisciaroni make Curadureddu one of the most evocative areas of Limbara. From a naturalistic point of view, the area is characterized by the presence of Mediterranean scrub, holm oaks, oaks and very rare wild orchids. Throughout the year wild periwinkles and daffodils create carpets of colorful flowers. It is possible to spot mouflons, woodpeckers and great tits.ORGANIC MUSEUMThe Museum of Organic Environmental Art was born in 2020 to create a dialogue between contemporary art and nature. It is a unique museum in Sardinia that offers the visitor a double experiential journey. Site-specific installations by contemporary artists dot the park-museum creating a highly evocative experience. Parallel to the outdoor route, the CEDAP exhibition space offers exhibitions of visual art and photography by artists who explore the complex relationship between man and nature.CEDAPThe Cedap (Education and Documentation Center on the Environment and Landscape) is a structure immersed in the Curadureddu Forest, created in 2016 thanks to a project by the architect Antonello Menicucci. The building, designed according to the principles of organic architecture, integrates harmoniously with the nature of the forest. The work is entirely made of local granite, a precious material that has made Tempio Pausania famous as "the City of Stone".DISABLEDThe experience is not suitable for people with different abilities, but personalized routes can be created with prior notice.PETSDogs are allowed if worn with a muzzle and leash, if they are small, a leash is sufficient.TASTINGThe tasting includes a glass of Vermentino from the Cantina Sociale Gallura accompanied by a platter of pecorino, sausage and carasau bread or a selection of local dry desserts.
